Having been involved in the hunting industry for 14 years guiding hunting trips, an opportunity arose to expand our business model and process the venison meat hunted on these trips. As a result, Syferfontein Safaris Abattoir, trading as Nkwe Butchery, was established in 2008.

With formal training in abattoir hygiene and venison processing, we have over 10 years of experience in the meat industry.

Nkwe Butchery offers a wide range of high-quality venison to hunters, lodges and loyal customers. Our abattoir is one of the first registered Game abattoirs in the North West Province.

While we originally started as a solely game meat butchery, we constantly faced inquiries concerning more popular and well-known products such as beef, pork, lamp and chicken. This led to the development of our extensive and high quality product range, which are all responsibly sourced from the Zeerust surrounding area.

We comply with the highest health and safety measures ensuring first rate, hormone free, natural and free-range game products.

Venison provides an array of health benefits, such as low cholesterol, and high volumes of zinc, calcium and vitamins.

With close ties to the hunting industry, Nkwe Butchery is highly knowledgeable about the animals that find themselves at the abattoir.
